Saddlebag Lakes Trail

 


Trail head Location:
Turn west on Hwy. 120 1 mile south of Lee Vining. Follow Hwy. 120 for 10 miles to the Saddlebag Lakes turnoff. Follow this road for 3 miles. The trail head is well marked and encircles the lake.

Dates open:
Usually from  July  through September, depending on the snowpack.

Type of camp:
Backpack 5 miles on a moderate trail. Highest elevation reached is 10,409 feet.

Permits:
Forest service wilderness permit.

Comments:
Purify water, watch for bears and pack out all trash. Fishing OK.
